Fitness Goal Without Numbers
March 13th, 2007
Rather than being obsessed with the numbers you see on the scale, try and focus more on how you feel or how you’ve progressed. For a suggestion on getting started you could register for a local 5k race (that’s 3.1 miles) and train to simply complete it. After you’ve done that, do another one, but this time with the goal of finishing in a faster time. You’ll find that when you create goal which carries more ‘weight’ (no pun intended) than just losing weight, you will naturally take necessary steps such as making healthier eating choices which ultimately, affect your training. Taking the focus off the numbers allows you to enjoy the thrill of reaching and accomplishing your OVERALL goal, which should be a healthier version of yourself!
Visit: www.active.com for a list of local races in your area. Whether you walk, run or even bike a race the bottom line is completion of a goal. Best of luck in your fitness endeavors!
